If your old drum or worn brake assemblies are dragging or losing bite, this Dexter Premier Disc Brake Kit delivers a solid upgrade. The 10" hub-and-rotor assemblies give consistent stopping power even at highway speeds, with noticeably shorter stopping distances than drum brakes. This complete set includes 2 hub-and-rotor assemblies, 2 calipers, and 2 mounting brackets designed for 3,500-lb axles with a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and 14"–15" wheels.
Corrosion can ruin brakes fast in wet or coastal conditions, but every part of this kit is Dacromet-plated for long-lasting protection. The coating has a 500-hour salt-spray rating and covers the rotors, calipers, and brackets for better durability when used around water. Stainless pistons and guide bolts inside the calipers add extra defense against rust and help these brakes keep working season after season.
Disc calipers have only one moving part compared to the many inside drum brakes. That means fewer things to wear out or seize up over time. With this setup you spend less time doing repairs and more time towing with confidence. The design keeps braking smooth and consistent while cutting down on maintenance costs in the long run.
Everything arrives matched and ready to mount—two hub-and-rotor assemblies, calipers, mounting brackets, races, and bolts. You’ll just add bearings, seals, grease caps, and brake lines sold separately. The standard four-bolt bracket pattern fits common 3,500-lb axle flanges, making it an easy upgrade for anyone doing their own install. To get full hydraulic pressure, pair it with a brake actuator rated for 1,500 psi as required by disc brakes.

The Titan Premier replacements for my old Titan standard disc brakes are very good. See my review of these brakes under the "bearings" review, where I thought I was addressing the brake installation due to the picture below the review box!
I can highly recommend them.
Bearing kit should be listed as an opti on
Shipping for this item was not acceptable. The brake rotors were placed in a large box with no padding. They tumbled within the box suffering damage and the box was in bad shape, held together barely by tape.
Retrofitted a Tracker/Tahoe boat trailer with the Titan system, as the trailer's OEM surge brake system by Tie Down Engineering is obsolete. Hubs/rotors are of high quality construction and machining. Brackets bolted directly onto the 3500# axle assembly. Dual bleeders on the caliper worked great. Highly recommend as a direct replacement!!
everything went according to plan.
parts fit perfectly no problem.
my enclosed trailer weighs around 7000 lb.
I have a lawn care co. and do a lot of driving with it and
its tremendous stopping power pulled me out of a jam several times
I had already put Titan disk brakes on my trailer 3 years ago
and I had no problem with the installation.
no problem with maintenance
or the operation , the brakes work much better than electric brakes
that I would recommend them to anyone that runs a trailer all the time
to consider retro fitting their trailer with these.
Had to buy the axle kit as my 4 year old Titan rotors cracked and replacement rotors were NLA. These are thicker which is how they should have made the cracked cheapass rotors in the first place. I had to hunt down grease seals as they didn't come with it. Also, no instructions were included so had to look up bolt torques on the Net. There was an interference issue so I had to notch out the flat Ubolt plate under the leaf springs to make clearance for the head of the long bottom caliper bolt, then it went together OK. Only time will tell how well these hold up. I would not have had to change the discs and calipers if the Titan ones I had didn't develop cracks in them.
After discovering my existing trailer brakes are locked up and the calipers are seized, I realized I needed a new system all together. I put these Titan brake parts on my Heritage boat trailer that carries my Baja 272. These parts fit my 3570lb Dexter axles perfectly and assembled with ease. The biggest issue I found was that the kits do not come with bolts that secure the caliper brackets to the axle mounding flanges. I ended up buying 16 7/16x14-1.5 inch corse thread zinc coated grade 5 bolts. The brackets centered on my axle nicely utilizing the centering lugs on the axle. My trailer required quite a bit of brake fluid to get these calipers to bleed out and pistons to extend all the way to plan to purchase a large bottle of brake fluid. Overall I am satisfied with these parts
Replaced drum brakes with these and have had nothing but trouble free trailering since. Kit was not very hard to install. Online video helped and just a little mechanical knowledge made this conversion easy. After a year and a couple thousand miles of trailering my boat these brakes look and perform like new.
I want to thank etrailer. It all started with ordering the wrong parts because I didn't ask questions. A call to customer service and they set me straight. Installation was easy and my boat trailer was on the road again. etrailer has the best pricing and quick delivery. My boat trailer is used routinely in salt water and the brakes need to be redone every 2-3 years. The local marine shop used to replace my breaks and charge big bucks. Thanks to etrailer, I can redo them easily at half the cost.
The parts arrived as expected. Installation was easy, once the hard brake lines were changed to fit. Knowing that there are additional parts, such as, a different brake actuator, a reverse lockout solenoid, flexible brake lines, retainer brackets, vehicle and trailer electrical connectors and wires, would be needed for converting surge brake drum brakes to disc brakes, would have been helpful as a "complete" conversion kit. This would have made this a weekend project instead a 4 week project. Really looking forward to finishing this project by this weekend after the last of the parts get here. John, Kyle, Robert, Diana and Noah were all very helpful in getting me the correct parts.
Items were poorly packaged and one of the rotors arrived damaged. Also I received two different types of brakes with my order. Emailed pictures and also called to discuss and have not heard back from representative. Do not have a clear path of how or when this will be resolved. My trailer is inoperable at.
They all fit and look very durable
Could be happier, the assembly could not have been easier; they were an exact fit for my 21-year-old trailor.
Great price great service quick delivery very happy!!
The brake kit appears to be decent quality and probably deserves a higher rating, however, even after specifically discussing the previous comments about poor packaging with the salesperson, and being assured that they were aware of the packaging issues and were taking extra precautions to preclude damage in transit, the shipping boxes were absolutely destroyed by the time UPS delivered them. By some miracle, the product didn’t seem to be damaged (beyond a couple of small nicks in a brake rotor), and nothing was missing from the shipment.
Brakes locked up and instead of sliding tires, both caliper brackets sheared off and damaged both calipers. Your department did not want to warranty parts and referred us to Dexter.
The Titan rotors and calipers were an easy install onto my EZ-Loader boat trailer. Etrailer has good pricing and the parts are shipped to my house. My surge brakes give my boat trailer a safe feel at 1/3 the cost of the local boat dealer.
I launched the boat off this trailer today for the fist time in ten years. The new brakes, actuator, tires, and wheels worked. Minor issue- the low quality of workmanship of the wheels (it took a lot of lead to achieve dynamic balance). Perhaps an English language instruction manual with three axis drawings would help.

Still functional
They were easy installation, and are working well
Nice kit. Everything went on smoothly. Packaging wasn't the best. The box arrived pretty beat up and rotors were not individually packaged so they had some nicks on the braking surface from bumping into each other.
Always dependable service, quality and fast shipping.
The #1 place for trailer parts !!!
Is great for boat trailer applications
This kit went on great on my 2003 Shoreland’r single axle with disc brakes. I had to make some sharp pipe bends to connect the calipers to dodge the springs. The caliper and mounts are much better than what came with my trailer. The races being already installed was pretty sweet. Pack your bearings and drop it in!
Easy install. Make sure you have all the bolts needed to install the bracket to axles and the bearings and seals to pack the hubs. Everything fit together great, take your time and do it right.
No instructions? Seriously?
Why does it come with races pre-installed? I always use bearings and races as matched sets but that means I had to pound out four races which is a pain in the rear.
Having never installed trailer brakes before and having no instructions I mounted the brackets the way etrailer shows in their videos except that it turns out they need to be flipped 180 degrees for a torsion axle. So I got to take everything apart again to reinstall. For some reason pulling one of the hubs off pulled out and crushed the grease seal spring so I had to stop work and order another seal. Instructions sure would have been nice
Also I ordered Dexter and got Kodiak?

The reality is, if you use your trailer in salt water you are periodically going to have to replace the rotors and calipers. They are not difficult to replace and etrailer makes it inexpensive. I have a very heavy boat and the titan system gives me confidence when on the road. Ill be back in 3-4 years for the inevitable brake job. Best bang for the buck.
